In this role, the Bulk Logistics Supervisor will have the opportunity make significant accomplishments, gain recognition and potentially advance to a Bulk Logistics Manager position in the future by demonstrating effective communication and project management skills. S/he will be the will act as key liaison between logistics, sales and manufacturing and initiate a project to achieve alignment of manufacturing and transportation resources to optimize cost and service. In 2010, s/he will participate in Green Belt training and complete additional projects to the bulk logistics operation and to obtain Green Belt certification.

The successful associate may move to a Sales position in the area or relocate to assume a Corporate Bulk Logistics Manager position in the future.



Main Responsibilities:



* Generates TQIPs that improve safety, cost, service, quality, and/or compliance. Set goals for each employee to measure functional productivity.

* Develops & monitors budget targets for load optimization & delivery service requirements. Identifies, evaluates, & implements sourcing strategies & new potential terminals. Identifies & manages site specific projects. Identifies & implements network redesign & vendor changes to improve performance. Cooperates with sales field to identify & lead joint improvement efforts.

* Fosters relationships with key vendors/suppliers/customers; collaborates on CPI initiatives. Works on new customer set-ups & new accounts. Manages supplier performance. Works with Divisional management to audit customer sites. Meets service level agreements. Investigates & resolves customer complaints.

* Monitors & approves all detention. Investigates off-loading detention issues at customer sites. Identifies & improves inconsistent ordering patterns by account. Communicates openly with peers in Logistics, Manufacturing, & other Ecolab functions. Coordinates with coworkers, peers & customers to solve internal & external issues.

* Complies with EHS & Regulatory standards. Leads safety program & provides safe working environment. Maintains driver safety program, ensuring all drivers hauling Ecolab bulk loads are certified, conducting and/or delegating training duties, reporting metrics & updating documentation as needed.

Basic Qualifications:


* Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation, Materials Management, Chem E, Mech E, Chemistry, Biology, or Math degree.

Preferred Qualifications:


* Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation, or Materials Management.

* 3-4 years logistics or transportation experience.

* 1-2 years experience with the bulk transport of chemicals

* 1-2 Years Project Leadership experience in warehouse, transportation or logistics.

* Supply Chain experience in project management, vendor negotiation & management & work experience with cross functional teams, customers & sales teams.

* Ability to collect & analyze financial data; strong metrics & systems orientation; the ability to evaluate cost improvement opportunities.

* Strong written, verbal, electronic and presentation communication skills.
