Job Description:

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance of the equipment and facility. This is accomplished by performing regularly scheduled preventive maintenance, monthly safety checks, making repairs and modifications to equipment and facilities as scheduled, and help coordinating work being completed by outside contractors.



Main Responsibilities:


·Work on equipment such as but not limited to hydraulic pumps, hydraulic cylinders, electrical motors, timers, transformers, controls and fork trucks. Additional jobs include general plumbing, building repairs, lighting replacement and other maintenance functions.

·Install, trouble shoot and perform electrical repairs to equipment and the facility.

·Routine and preventative maintenance.

·Help coordinate work being completed by outside contractors.

·Practice good safety working practices such as: Lock out/Tag out, maintain an organized work area.

·Ensure that all guards and safety devices for the equipment repaired are operational and that the piece of equipment is safe to return to service.

·Accurate and timely labor report and update of maintenance records.

·Operate a fork truck.



Key Qualifications:


·High School Diploma or equivalent.

·Formal vocational training in plant maintenance activities with emphasis on industrial electrical applications or equivalent job experience in electricity, power distribution, industrial electrical wiring, mechanics, machine operations, general plumbing, heating ventilation and air conditioning, boiler operations, carpentry, and extensive related experience in equipment diagnostics and repair is preferred.

·Able to read blue prints and schematics.

·Knowledge of advanced shop mathematics.

·Knowledgeable in the use of mechanical and electronic measuring instruments, hand tools, and power tools that may be used to install or repair equipment.

·Able to follow written and verbal English instructions.

·Good communication skills.
