As Logistics Supervisor you must be a self-directed achiever and great leader. You will drive the warehouse 10-13 person team to improve safety, quality, & metrics. And, will lead redesign of warehouse processes (budget, personnel, equipment, capital projects, & inventory) & teams on warehouse & network design projects.
In our Joliet, IL distribution center you will work with a strong manager to develop your career! Be someone eager to assume responsibility for his/her own DC or Warehouse operation locally or nationally in the near future. Be willing to lead a 2nd or 3rd shift to develop and demonstrate your ability to wear all the hats of management. In the next 3 to 5 years the successful expect to relocate for promotion & career growth.
Main Responsibilities
· Executes Supply Chain strategy TQM plans. Communicates & reinforces Logistics plans. Maintains clear communication & close co-operation with Customer Service, Materials Planning, Manufacturing, & major suppliers/vendors. Works with Quality, Planning, Manufacturing, Carriers & Customers to proactively avoid & resolve quality & service issues relating to logistics.
· Coordinates operational redesign projects to improve performance & meet customer needs. Generates & implements innovations for logistical competitive advantage that improve performance. Implements Lean concepts & practices.
· Monitors fixed assets & coordinates implementation of approved CARs. Assists in developing site logistics budget with focus on continuously improving year over year performance against metrics.
· Supervises logistics activities (storage, shipping) incl: inventory control, warehousing, transportation, logistics planning, order processing & customer service. Communicates standard logistics metrics to direct reports. Resolves quality, service & cost issues. Supports oversight of DOH inventory levels.
Basic Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree.
· 3-4 years related experience in a warehouse environment.
· Minimum 2 years warehouse supervisory experience.
· Related shipping, receiving, warehousing, and inventory control system experience in high-SKU manufacturing environment.
· Candidates residing within 100-mile radius and willing to relocate to daily commuting distance of zip code 60436 will be considered; no relocation allowance offered.
· No immigration sponsorship available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Transportation, or Engineering; Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation and/or MBA strongly preferred.
· Lean Six Sigma training.
