Job Description:
Open the door to a great future with a stable, growing, global Fortune 500 Lean Six Sigma chemical manufacturer in an entry-level 2nd shift supervisory role, with the opportunity to advance to operations leadership roles in planning, production or project management, or logistics.
As Production Supervisor , you must be a self-directed achiever able to lead a dedicated Lean Six Sigma batch manufacturing team of hourly employees to produce consumer chemicals during 2nd shift at our McDonough, GA plant. On a regular basis, the strong candidate will act quickly to troubleshoot quality/manufacturing problems, providing accurate diagnosis so that the mechanical team can resolve problems that would impede success in delivering quality products within deadlines. Gain recognition for improvements by leading the shift to enhance our safety focus and 5S to reach exceptional standards; contribute to sustainability initiatives including energy conservation, recycling and wastewater reclamation. A top performer will have the opportunity to gain Green Belt training. Anticipate advancement in 2-3 years.
Main Responsibilities:
·Selects, trains, develops, retains, recognizes, & manages Mixers & Material Handlers; prepares qualified candidates for personal succession. Maintains a safe work environment & implements Safety Management System. Manages daily manufacturing operations of lines or shifts to ensure the manufacturing plan is executed in a manner that meets or exceeds quality & cost objectives.
·Ensures the plant is in compliance with all internal & external standards & legislation. Achieves annual TQM plans for shift/department. Communicates & reinforces plant plans in area of responsibility. Provides formal & informal reporting on plant performance & issues.
·Ensures that Quality system is followed. Ensures products produced meet specifications. Resolves quality, service & cost issues. Generates & implements ideas that improve quality indicators to support cost, investment & service goals. Implements Lean concepts & practices.
Basic Qualifications:
·Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry or Biology.
·Prior Leadership or Training experience.
·No immigration sponsorship offered.
·Local candidates only i.e. within 100 miles of zip code 30253 and willing to reside within daily commuting distance.
Preferred Qualifications:
·Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
·Completed manufacturing internship or co-op.
·1 - 4 years Process manufacturing experience.
·1 - 2 years manufacturing supervisory experience.
·1 - 2 years Project Management experience.
